Roccat Kave XTD True 5.1 PC Gaming Headset Review

A Closer Look Continued

The Kave XTD features a somewhat minimalist design, the back of the earcups is just a huge flat black plastic surface with a small Roccat Kave XTD logo on the left side. The ear cups are a closed back design and this should help them provide a much lower bass frequency compared to open back ear cup designs.

The interior of the ear cups is like a cave, the name is no coincidence. Your ears go inside the headset ear cups which have a deep recess, which the soft leather padding fits snug to the side of your head.

the headset is hard-wired with a really nice quality,  rubber sleeved cable.

The microphone is fixed in pretty tight, but can be removed with a firm tug, or it can be folded up out of the way when you don’t need it.

The microphone boom is quite long and it is also flexible, so you should have no issues finding a comfortable resting position for it.

The end of the microphone has a small LED indicator to show you when the mute function is enabled.

The headband is really tough feeling, but also incredibly flexible as we saw at CES 2014 when Roccat were keen to twist it within an inch of its life (see the picture after the one below).

The inner section of the headband features a super soft memory foam padding.

The padding is very forgiving, providing a lot of comfort and grip, while also being made of a breathable material that shouldn’t make your head too warm.

The headband is adjustable and features numbered notches to help you adjust to
