Roccat KONE Pro Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Roccat KONE Pro Gaming Mouse is available now from a few major retailers. It’s on Amazon at the moment for £70, and it is available in black or a rather fetching white. However, it does show that it’s already out of stock, no shockers there given it’s 2021, and you’re all stuck at home playing games and hovering up hardware. However, it’ll only be a few extra days if you order one.

Overview

Roccat is one of the hottest brands out there when it comes to PC gaming peripherals, they’ve delivered some of my all-time favourite gaming mice over the years, and I’m happy to report they’ve done it again. The only thing that throws me is that it doesn’t quite feel like a Roccat mouse to me, but that’s mostly down to how freaking light it is when I’ve always known Roccat for their tank-like over-engineering. That being said, this is still a very robust and well-made mouse, and that is certainly impressive.

Aesthetics

It’s also an aesthetically stunning thing to look at. With the RGB off, I think it has great lines and surface finishes on it. It’s a nice thing to have on your desktop and to hold. Furthermore, the RGB is really unique, and that’s not an easy thing to do so late into the RGB game when everyone is trying to do something unique. The ultralight cable is really nice too, it gives the mouse a premium look and feel, while also benefitting the mouse’s performance.

Performance

The sensor on this mouse is as good as they come. I seem to be saying that a lot recently, but in truth, sensor technology has advanced so much in recent years that a company would have to try pretty hard to find a bad sensor. At 19K DPI, you’ve got more tracking speed than you’ll ever need, and it’ll track smoothly at any speed you want to move the mouse. Plus, those enormous PFTE pads and the lightweight design means you can almost move the mouse with telepathy; it takes so little physical effort.

The left side buttons are nice and tight, with a great click response. The LMB and RMB use the optical Titan Switches, which have a fairly unique click and feel to them, and they are quite springy, which could be tightened up a little, but I like how they feel overall.

Should I Buy One?

There’s some strong competition out there right now, with most brands having an ultralight mouse with a killer sensor and some great switches. However, Roccat clearly has something that can compete with any of them. Plus, they’re broadly around the same price as their rivals, so you could even just say it comes down to aesthetics at this point. Thankfully, with the new body design, the improved materials and that stunning nose-focused internal RGB design, Roccat really does have one of the best-looking mice I’ve seen this year, and it’s certainly worthy of your attention!
