Ouya has been one of the biggest KickStater sensations, and in many ways it opened the flood gates for other hardware developers to try their luck. Sure they’re not the first to do this kind of thing, but best I can tell, they’ve been the most successful. With 63,416 backers and $8,596,474 pledged of their $950,000 goal its safe to say that Ouya beat every ones expectations, grabbing over £7,600,000 more than their required target to bring the console to market.
The concept of a small cube shaped games console that cost just $99, or a little under £65 here in the UK in exciting stuff. The system is effectively a fairly powerful mobile phone, will all the phone parts stripped out and a wireless controller thrown in, but as a way of getting Android apps onto your TV its pretty epic and developers are falling over them selves to bring great content to the console in time for its release.
