Roundup of the 6 New Gaming Platforms Launching in 2013

So there we have it, that’s the 2013 gaming platforms, or at least all the major ones and you can bet that 2013 will see many other gaming devices come and go, some will do better than others, some won’t even raise an eyebrow, but there will be plenty of them non the less.
PlayStation 4 is set to make the biggest splash, its the most invested and is already appealing to a massive install base of console gamers that haven’t seen a new console, with the exception of the Wii U in around 7 years. I don’t see why it won’t do well, maybe not at first, but if Sony gets the price right, its going to be huge.
Ouya is my #1 favourite for the budget side of things, it offers plenty of performance, tonnes of style and its seriously good value for money. There could be a few issues getting games to the device quickly as it requires games to be slightly modified to be compatible with its hardware, so only time will tell on that one.
I really like Nvidia Project Sheild too but its just too ridiculous and complicated to appeal to the mass market, which is a real shame. It is however nice to see someone out there that is daring to try something a little different.
Which of these devices has you excited? Will you be buying any of them, or are you just going to sit tight and see what 2014 has to bring instead.
