Sapphire Nitro+ VEGA 64 Graphics Card Review

Sapphire Nitro+ VEGA 64

The AMD VEGA graphics cards have been with us for a little while now, but as a long time fan of Sapphire AMD GPUs, there’s been one in particular that I’ve been waiting for. Of course, I am talking about the Sapphire Nitro+ VEGA 64, which is set to be one of the best VEGA graphics cards on the market to date, and possibly the greatest we’ll see short of a water cooled edition.

It features their biggest GPU cooler to date, measuring around 2-inches longer than the reference card, and taking up three slots in terms of thickness. This card is an absolute monster. Why is it so big? Because it features a huge three fan design, a plethora of high-quality heat pipes, a vapor chamber, a huge fin array, and massively upgraded power delivery hardware.

2x 92 mm + 1x 80 mm Fans and 3x 8 mm + 5x 6mm Heatpipes (VRM included)

To get the operational temperatures of the GPUs down to the targeted 70°C, SAPPHIRE has brought back its innovative vapor chamber technology made famous through SAPPHIRE’s Vapor-X series of graphics cards. Using this instead of the copper base on the GPU and HBM2 memory has lowered temperatures by up to 5°C. Heat is dissipated by a trio of efficient fans – two, slightly bigger, on the sides, running anticlockwise, and a smaller middle fan running clockwise to ensure optimal airflow.

What’s in the Box

Included with this graphics card, you’ll also find this awesome looking metal support bracket. This GPU is huge, and it’s heavy, so it’s nice that they’ve included the hardware required to prevent it from drooping.
