Sapphire Radeon RX 6600 XT Pulse Review

I’m a big fan of Sapphire graphics cards and have been for a very long time. I tend to favour their cards when I build an AMD system, and I think my first one was an HD6770, moving through the R9 280X, RX480, and the RX580 series after that and a bunch of others in between. Now they’re back again with their new RX 6600 XT. While this is only designed to be the entry-level chipset for the current AMD range, it does look promising. The faster and more expensive Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6700 XT was great for higher resolution gaming, but obviously came at a higher price. With a focus on more affordable 1080p based systems, the 6600 XT could be the solution to both the low stock and high prices we’re currently seeing in the market.

Sapphire Radeon RX 6600 XT Pulse

Of course, this isn’t the first 6600 XT we’ve tested, with the first review going live yesterday, and more on the way, so we have something to compare it to at least! However, Sapphire has a strong reputation and their Pulse series has long been a big hit. It comes equipped with a premium Dual-X Cooling design, featuring a pair of high-quality dual-bearing fans with independent PWM control and zero RPM modes. There’s also a robust heatsink and radiator design, paired with a full-size metal backplate, ensuring reliable performance and greatly improved build quality. Of course, that robust cooling solution will mean lower noise and temperatures and allow the card to maintain its factory overclock for better performance than the AMD reference design.
