Scythe Mugen 5 TUF Gaming Alliance Cooler Review

Performance
In terms of standard performance, the Scythe Mugen TUG Gaming Alliance provides more than respectable results. As this has been designed as a performance air cooler, this is hardly surprising with strong figures for both stock temperatures and stock acoustics. Finding itself in the top-end of the mid-tier of results, it beats off many other coolers that you would’ve probably presumed would’ve had an edge on this.
The small size of the radiator, however, may become a factor when pushed to the limits in overclocking.
In relatively table positioning, the Mugen 5 drops down a few places when overclocked. As above, not entirely surprising given that size has been a factor in it’s design. It shouldn’t, however, overshadow an important factor. Namely, that despite even when being overclocked hard, the radiator fan noise is still good. It is perhaps a testament to the design of the Scythe Kaze Flex fans or possibly just a good cooler overall. If performance and noise are a factor, however, then the Mugen 5 TGA ticks both boxes very confidently.
