Seagate IronWolf Pro 20TB 3.5″ HDD Review

CrystalDiskMark

It’s been a long time since I tested a mechanical drive, so these numbers are a far cry from the 7000Mbps we often see on Gen4 M.2 drives. However, for a 3.5″ drive, this is actually pretty quick, and right on target for the quoted speeds from Seagate, and faster than last years model, which is great.

ATTO Disk Benchmark

One thing that I do like about this drive is how quickly it gets up to speed, even smaller transfers from around 8KB pick up to near the maximum speed.

Anvil’s Storage Utilities

The score looks decent enough, but again it’s the response time that’s really good. For the most part, you’re getting a low response time for day to day tasks and consistent performance on larger tasks too.

AS SSD

Obviously, this is AS SSD not AS HDD, but again it’s just a good benchmark to show us the overall speeds, as well as to confirm the read and write response times.
