Silent Hill 2 Remake PC Requirements Confirmed – (Warning – Brace Yourselves!)

Silent Hill 2 Remake

After a year of rumours and speculation, Konami has finally confirmed that Silent Hill 2 is set to get the remake treatment, and following the release of its official trailer, I think it is more than fair to say that fans of the franchise are incredibly hyped for it. – Yes, there is, of course, also a lot of intrigue surrounding their ‘F’ project, but let’s face it, if Konami was going to do some fan service, Silent Hill 2 Remake is undoubtedly it!

For as amazing as the trailer looked, however, this has clearly raised a few questions as to what kind of system requirements the PC version may have. And in this regard, it’s both good and bad news. – The good news is that following an update to its Steam website, Blooper Team has confirmed the official PC requirements for Silent Hill 2 Remake. The bad news, however, is that they are, even by modern standards, incredibly terse! – Put simply, even I’m not sure what kind of experience I’m going to get out of this!

Silent Hill 2 Remake – Official PC Requirements!

I’m going to give you a fair warning now, the PC requirements for Silent Hill 2 Remake are among some of the highest I’ve ever seen and especially so when it comes to graphics cards.

MINIMUM:

  • OS: Windows 10 x64
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 50 GB available space
  • Sound Card: Windows Compatible Audio Device.
  • Additional Notes: Playing on minimum requirements should enable playing on Low/Medium quality settings in FullHD (1080p) in stable 30 FPS.

RECOMMENDED:

  • OS: Windows 11 x64
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K | AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® 2080RTX or AMD Radeon™ 6800XT
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 50 GB available space
  • Sound Card: Windows Compatible Audio Device.
  • Additional Notes: Playing on recommended requirements should enable playing on Medium quality settings in 60 FPS or High-quality settings in 30 FPS, in FullHD (or 4k using DLSS or similar technology).

What Do We Think?

So, how about those recommended graphics cards? – I’m not going to lie, I think it’s mildly terrifying that you might need something as beefy as an Nvidia 2080 just to get a reasonable 60FPS experience, in 1080p, on medium graphics settings. – Put simply, while my PC is no slouch, I’m not sure it’s going to be able to handle this. Particularly so since I’ve got more than a little accustomed to 1440p gaming over the last few years.

I have to admit too, I raised an eyebrow at Windows 11 being the ‘recommended’ operating system.

If you do, however, want to learn more, you can check out its official Steam store website via the link here! – For the moment though, I don’t know what looks scarier, Silent Hill 2 Remake or its PC requirements!

In terms of a release though, well, it seems that it’s going to be on the PS5 for at least a year before heading to PC. So I guess that at least gives us some time to finally get that upgrade. By the looks of it though, a lot of us are going to need it!
