Performance

As we have noted in earlier aspects of this review, the Silentium PC Spartan 4 EVO ARGB is not an expensive cooler and, as such, it would be highly-optimistic to even to begin to think that this would be a ‘high-end’ performer. Not unless this respected the cooling bargain of the century!

So, with that in mind, how did it do in our testing? Well, as you might expect, finding itself among some exceptionally strong competition, the Spartan 4 EVO ARGB doesn’t initially look like it did particularly well in terms of temperature control and, in certain lights, that would be accurate. For example, it’s hard to deny that in terms of long-term usage, this cooler offers practically no potential for overclocking. Yes, 79c is just about within acceptable remits, but only by the skin of its teeth. In contract, however, only achieving 63C under full load at stock levels is more than a little respectable and, just in case you haven’t spotted it yet, there’s a huge plus mark surrounding this cooler in both tests.

Whether overclocked or at stock levels, the Spartan 4 EVO ARGB was amazingly quiet! In fact, it’s one of the quietest coolers we have ever tested and, we must admit, usually for cost-effective coolers the acoustic performance can often be pretty lousy.

So, to summarize, if you care nothing for overclocking and just want a solid cost-effective cooler that is practically whisper quiet, the Spartan 4 EVO ARGB represents a seemingly excellent option!
