Silverstone Precision Series PS07 Midi-Tower Chassis Review

I’m really impressed with the capabilities on offer with the PS07, not only in terms of it’s capability of holding high end components, but also its applications for the type of system you can build within it. It was only after that I completed the build that I regretted not putting a larger CPU cooler in there, sure our Akasa cooler is up to the job, but this system could have easily handled our Antec Kuhler 920 or our passive Cooler Master TPC 800.

Also thanks to its motherboard compatibility it easily handled our GTX 560 Ti, you may even get an SLI system in here if your careful with arranging your air flow properly or something like the GTX 680 SOC wouldn’t have provided any conflicts. With motherboard manufacturers producing some seriously high performance boards for smaller chassis designs, I see no reason why this couldn’t be turned into a very respectable, compact and quiet gaming rig, perfect for those with limited space or for BYOC LAN gaming events.

The PS07 also offers plenty of storage room for mechanical hard drives as well as a pair of SSD hard drives, making this an ideal solution for a small home server or media centre solution.

But most importantly, this isn’t the sort of chassis I would want to hide out of site, it’s brilliant white finish looks flawless and simply fantastic (even if it is a nightmare to photograph). I see no reason why you couldn’t have this up off the floor as a true desktop system along side your monitor. It’s high quality fans offer plenty of cooling with minimum noise output and it’s overall it’s simple but desirable design is worth showing off.

So if you’re looking for a compact system, but don’t want to be restricted on it’s applications then the PS07 should be top of your list. While we have seen a fair few smaller form factor systems here at eTeknix, it’s rare we see one that is both as versatile and stylish as what Silverstone have to offer here, which is why I am happy to award the PS07 with our eTeknix Innovation Award.
