Skull and Bones PC Requirements Revealed

While it’s not coming out for a couple of months yet, it seems Ubisoft are pretty well organised on this one, as they’ve released the PC system requirements well ahead of time, and that’s often a good sign. It looks like the game will target a broad range of systems too, so even those on older hardware should still be able to join the party, which is awesome as I know many are still struggling to upgrade right now.

What’s interesting, is that the game will offer support for Ray Tracing Global Illumination (RTGI), DLSS and FSR image scaling are included, and it even has uncapped FPS and multi-monitor and ultrawide support. That’s fantastic news, and I love that they’ll be including a benchmark tool, as you know we love those here at eTeknix.

Skull and Bones

At the entry-level, an Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 will be a good start. So any half-decent quad-core from the last 6-8 years, basically. Pair that with a GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 570 for 30 FPS Full HD gaming. Moving up to 60 FPS takes a fair leap though, asking for a Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, but a Nivida GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. Surely a 1080 ti, or even RTX 2060 would be enough compared to 30 FPS? We shall see.

Beyond that, the skies (well, the seas) are the limit, of course, with a modern Intel or AMD gaming CPU paired with the power of the RTX 3070 or the RX 6800 for 1440p gaming. For higher refresh rate gamers or 4K, then you’ll be pulling out the big guns, starting with the RTX 3080 and the RX 6800 with each using DLSS or FSR to get optimal performance.

Of course, we need to see some Ray Tracing settings too, that’ll be interesting!

Enter the perilous paradise of Skull and Bones, inspired by the Indian Ocean during the Golden Age of Piracy, as you overcome the odds and rise from an outcast to an infamous pirate. Craft a variety of unique ships to survive, thrive, and rule in an immersive world that introduces new challenges and features every season.
