Specs, Benchmarks and Price of AMD Raven Ridge APUs Leak Out

Ryzen CPUs with Vega Graphics are Coming

AMD’s latest Ryzen processors with built-in Vega graphics are expected to launch soon. It also could not be a better time for these to come out with the current prices of discrete graphics as high as it is. AMD still holds the crown as having superior built-in graphics. So much so that even Intel has finally given up and teamed up with them to create new processors with AMD Vega graphics built-in. Plus, they even poached former Radeon Technologies Chief Raja Koduri himself so that they will finally be able to compete.

These new “Raven Ridge” APUs are expected to also bring higher clock speeds in terms of CPU power. It is also made on the 12nm process rather than 14nm like the original Ryzen. This gives users additional reason to opt for them over the existing Ryzen line other than the built-in Vega GPU.

Of course, AMD is actually not calling these APUs officially. That is only me out of habit. That is because they have a lawsuit regarding those original ones that came out a few years ago. So it is understandable that they want to distance themselves from that branding.

The leaked photos are posted on Chinese forums Baidu (before taken down earlier). So far the packaging is identical to that of Ryzen, with the exception of the silver streak at the top for Vega. The two processors in the photo are the Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G. Both also come with what appears to be a Wraith Stealth cooler bundled. While these have a 65W TDP rating, the new process is much more efficient than the 1st gen Ryzens so temperature should not be an issue. Even with a Vega GPU built-in.

When are These New Ryzen CPUs Coming Out?

The launch date is February 18 so it is only a few days away. Which explains why leaks are starting to show up from the Far East, right on schedule. Some stores have even begun listing it already in Singapore. The Ryzen 5 2400G is listed there for $237 Singapore dollars which is around $180 USD. However it will be be priced lower once available. See the table below for specifications and estimated pricing.

How Well Does It Perform?

YouTuber Tum Apisak has posted benchmark videos on his YouTube channel. It shows 3DMark performance of the new APU.
