Spyro The Dragon

For a time, Spyro the Dragon was a major player in video games. In the mass wrassle to find a mascot for Sony’s PlayStation, he was, for a time, the face of the gaming company.

Despite this, however, this once loved dragon has fallen on hard times. That doesn’t, however, mean that he’s gone as reports suggest that a Spyro Trilogy is set to land on PC next year.

Remaster

In a report via DSOGaming, it is already known that a remastered trilogy is already coming to the PS4 in March this year. It is, however, thought that this is only a timed-exclusive. By this, the game will only be exclusive for the PS4 for a pre-set amount of time. With an Xbox release not being likely based on the mascots past, the most logical conclusion is a PC release for 2019.

It is also backed up by the fact that the Crash Bandicoot trilogy, recently remastered and released on PS4 is expected to be heading to PC before the end of this year.

Gaming Classics

We have in recent years seen a lot of remastered releases. The market for us older gamers to revisit their childhood favourites has never been stronger. It makes us wonder if in 10 years time what we’ll see remastered again.

In fairness, they are on the surface quite simple to produce. You do, after all, already have a source game in place. As can be seen in Shadow of the Colossus though, a remake can completely reinvent a game from the ground up without ruining it. One hopes the same for these.

When will it be released?

The Spyro Trilogy is set to be released on PS4 this March and as of yet neither has a PC release date. It may though, only be a matter of time.

What do you think? Would you like to see Crash Bandicoot and Spyro on the PC remastered? In addition, are there any other games you’d like to see remastered? Maybe Metal Gear Solid? – Let us know in the comments!
