SteelSeries Sensei 310 Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The SteelSeries Sensei 310 Optical Gaming Mouse is available right now from the SteelSeries store, as well as many other major retailers. It’s priced at just £59.99, which is great value for money given the performance. It’s also the same price The SteelSeries Rival 310 Optical Gaming Mouse (review). That should come as no surprise though, as they’re the same spec, but in a different ergonomic shape.

Overview

With such a strong reputation in the PC gaming market, SteelSeries is pretty much a sure thing these days. I can’t remember the last time I tested one of their products and thought it was anything less than fantastic. They sponsor pro gaming teams around the world, and I’m sure many of you will either have owned or still own at least one of their products over the years.

But I’m Not a Pro Gamer

That’s certainly not a problem with the Sensei. This is a rock solid, stylish, comfortable and accurate mouse, which is obviously a big benefit to competitive gaming. However, if like me you spend more time in the office than you do playing your favorite games, it’s still got a lot to offer. An accurate sensor is great for working in editing software such as Photoshop, or for setting dope Bejeweled scores.

If you are a pro gamer, then that 1:1 accuracy isn’t going to make you world number one. Of course, it will mean that if you do miss that vital $1 million winning head-shot, you’ve only got yourself to blame. Or you can blame lag, but no one will believe you.

Refined and Improved

The build quality on this mouse is superb. It’s very similar to their older models, but little tweaks go a long way. The lightweight design makes it fast and nimble, but it still feels capable of withstanding some serious havoc without cause for concern. The new separate panel design for the main controls makes them more accurate and responsive too.

Pros

  • Great build quality
  • Lightweight
  • Ambidextrous
  • Fully programmable
  • Macro engine
  • RGB lighting
  • All-in-one software for SteelSeries range
  • 1:1 sensor performance

Cons

  • None
