Tecware Phantom TKL Mechanical Keyboard Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Tecware Phantom is currently available from Amazon in the UK with an MSRP of just £54.99. That’s really great value for money, given the features, quality and performance on offer. There are a lot of keyboards available for around the same price, but I really do think Tecware have enough of an edge to stand out from the crowd.

Overview

Tecware may be a fairly new brand for us here at eTeknix, but if this is an impression of what they can do, then we’re more than happy to see more of it. Actually, we have a mouse of theirs in for review too, and that’s pretty fantastic too, but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves yet. They’re right on the money though, with a good price for a good product, and that’s all any consumer really wants.

Performance

The use of Outemu switches may have some worries, but not me. I didn’t know they weren’t cherry until I took a REALLY good look at the switches. I’ve never used them before, but a quick bit of research painted their performance in a positive light. Cherry’s dominance has been slipping due to its higher cost anyway.

For a day of writing emails and an evening of gaming, this keyboard ticks all the right boxes. Plus I love the compact design. However, a full-size model is also available if you need the number pad.

Added Value

The inclusion of some quality built-in RGB backlighting, with 20-presets, a durable design and quality double-shot ABS caps, sleeved cables, and that handy cap removal tool. Even minor details, such as the integrated dust-cap on the USB header. They’re all just little details, but they’re all there and they add up to make a more usable, loveable and practical keyboard.

Should I Buy One?

If you’re looking for a compact, durable, stylish and great performing keyboard, I strongly recommend the Tecware Phantom. At this price, you just can’t get better than this, I love it!
