Users interested in the multimedia features in ThecusOS 7 and this wonderful NAS should check out our in-depth coverage on just this kind of setup. I still wanted to show some of the great media features found in this system.
Plex is probably one of the most known media centres and for a good reason. The only downside to the app is that some features require a premium account, but there are plenty of free functionality too for non-subscribers.
A similar but less known solution is Emby. It features about the same as Plex and has an unlimited subscription feature that’s slightly cheaper than Plex. It looks and works a bit differently, so it comes down to personal preference which of the two is for you.
Twonky is probably mostly be used for UPnP and DLNA streaming, but it is capable of a lot more, including in-page playback.
And those are just a few of the options available.
