Thermaltake Level 20 XT E-ATX Cube Chassis Review

Complete System

Why on Earth did I install a mini-ITX system with an ITX graphics card? I didn’t! Would you believe that’s an E-ATX Rampage Extreme 2011-3 motherboard? It takes up basically no space at all in here. If I’m honest, it’s a little embarrassing. I really have brought a knife to a nuke fight here.

What I do love is that even with a huge motherboard, you install it horizontally. That means you can show off all your graphics cards without the need for expensive riser cables and adaptors. It also means the weight of high-end GPUs is more evenly distributed, and the card isn’t going to droop in this orientation.

Thermaltake were wise too, placing the cable routing far enough over for E-ATX; many brands somehow leave the E-ATX boards hanging over the grommets, god only knows how.

The only tricking thing is, how do I neatly route cables to the bottom edge of the motherboard? I would suggest cable sleeving and some very well placed cable ties, but a more dedicated routing solution would be nice.

The space above the motherboard is hilariously huge. Even the bigger coolers from the likes of Noctua would look pretty small in here too.

What Else Fits?

There’s so much space, I can comfortably fit a Samsung S9+ above the GPU. That’s not a standard unit of measurement, unlike a banana, but I doubt you’ll have issues with thick radiators and many fans.

So, we are planning to do some custom loop with this chassis soon enough, honestly. However, what can we do with that space in the meantime? Well, it’s bigger than some of the cupboard space I have in the office, so let’s find out!

I can fit my PC component toolbox in there, I could even fit two if I didn’t mind stacking them. Three if I took out the HDD bays.

Why not create a stylish way to display your favourite headphones? Of course, removing the glass to get at them may not be ideal. However, that’s a life side head with BIG headphones on and there’s still room to rock out.

How about an entire keyboard? Not just any keyboard, but one with a huge write rest, and a rather chunky frame? OK, getting carried away now. I’d have done one more, but had no access to tropical fish and sealant for the glass.

Showcase!

Despite being a bit on the roomy side in there, the build does look great. With a bit of effort and a lot of money, there’s no doubt you could build a custom loop that would make Cern blush in here. For those that plan to do so, get working out as it’s 20.4 KG unloaded and will be significantly more with a PC built inside it.

Cable routing is not going to be easy, and I strongly suggest that if you have this chassis, you get a PSU with sleeved cables, as it’s all going to be on show.

Just the cables from the CPU cooler alone are sticking out all over, and the GPU ones too. With the right mind and the right mindset to cable tie everything to perfection, it could look amazing though.
