When it comes to any form of cooler installation, I personally consider the instruction manual to be one of the most critical aspects of the product’s design. A bad manual can easily lead to mistakes being made, and in some instances, they can have some very nasty consequences. Unfortunately, while the Thermaltake Toughliquid 360 ARGB Sync is a premium-level product, the manual is anything but. While you are provided with all the information you need to know, there are practically no written instructions, and the diagrams are ridiculously small and limited in terms of the information they convey. – Don’t get me wrong, as long as you pay close attention, you shouldn’t go wrong. Therein lies the key problem, though, you really have to pay close attention, or you will probably go wrong!
Put simply, you essentially have 1 picture that covers practically all of the installation methodology and, although it brings me no pleasure in saying it, Thermaltake really should’ve done better here! It’s a premium product with a bargain-basement manual!
Fortunately, as long as you do pay close attention to the limited information in the manual, you shouldn’t have too many problems getting this fitted to your system. If anything, the mounting system utilised is quite intuitive and, if you’re experienced with AIO coolers, you shouldn’t find anything too unusual or complicated going on here. – Better still, thanks to the pump head design, compatibility (in terms of easily getting it to fit) should present no problem at all. Even with our motherboards rather chunky VRM, this still sat very nicely in place and looked quite nice in the process too!
The Thermaltake Toughliquid 360 ARGB Sync took us roughly 20 minutes to install from out of the box and onto our test bench. While this is admittedly a lot longer than average, the time was largely consumed by us having to regularly consult the very basic installation manual to ensure that this was fitted correctly. Once in place, however, and with that ARGB lighting in action, it looks absolutely fantastic.
With that turnable top as well, we were easily able to rotate it so that we could take a far more appealing picture below. So, overall, while the installation could be massively improved with a better manual, on the whole, it’s no more difficult or time-consuming than any other good 360mm AIO liquid cooler.
