Thermaltake Toughpower Cable Management 1200Watt Power Supply Video Review

Today we’re looking at the thermaltake Toughpower Cable Management 1200Watt power supply.

This power supply (even from the name) is a beast and rightly so being from one of the most trusted manufacturer’s on the market, and having a continuous stream of power at 1200watt.

What more could someone ask for? Modular? You got it!

It is a great future proof psu although ATI seem to be making cards need less power, but for dual fermi's maybe and a dual socket i7 board.Reminds me, i need to try and get a dual socket motherboard. Anyone recommend any?Andy

Well, AFAIK they had to tweak the HD 5970 so that it didn't exceed the specified 300W for PCIE slots, so dual Fermi can't eat more than dual 5970 until the specifications get an upgrade, that's why I went for quad 5870 :cool:No clue about the dual socket MOBO. They're out of my price range, really 😀

Quad 5870? Wow, a bit overkill don't you think? I can't think of anything that would need all that except possibly a 6 monitor Eyefinity setup with Crysis running at max settings.

Oh, and thanks for the review. A bit out of my price range, and way beyond anything I need but I love that they provide a pouch for cable safe-keeping and the fan seems really nice.

Dig a bit higher in the thread and find out this started as a joke… Also, you may find that the "edit post" button isn't as useless as it looks: if you click on it, something will happen :p

The most i need for my machine is a 700W PSU & this would be a overkill for my machine but who doesn't love to have some extra power at their disposal ?

I prefer to have extra bucks, so no I don't like having unneeded power at my disposal, unless if it were the same price but it's not the case.

  10. sushrukh says:

That's your thinking but i like to have more power in my hand. So, if any case i upgrade my system, i won't have to buy another Power Supply. 🙁
