How Much Does It Cost?

The Thermaltake TOUGHRAM RGB 4600MHz DDR4 is available now and you can expect to pay from £169 for either the black or white version from eBuyer. That’s pretty fantastic value for money given the build quality and speeds, I think that’ll be hard to beat.

Overview

I think Thermaltake has absolutely killed it with their new kit, and I think the most appealing aspect is the price. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not cheap, but memory prices as a whole are down right now, and a couple of years ago this kit would have been twice the price it is right now. You’re paying a bit more, but you’re getting faster, better made and more durable memory for your investment, which I absolutely am OK with.

Speed

Right out of the box, this is a bloody fast memory kit. Likely it’s faster than what most people actually need. For your typical gaming PC, I don’t think it’s going to make a huge difference. However, when you get into the enthusiast end of the PC market, with higher resolutions, more demanding workloads, and memory intensive applications, those small gains can add up at the end of the day. Of course, if you get lucky, you may even get a good overclock on this kit too, I suspect some may even hit 5000 MHz with the right CPU and motherboard.

Build Quality

It’s as good as it gets, and it’s as simple as that. Tightly screened chips and a quality PCB with some gold connectors? Every brand does that these days, so no issues there really. It’s that gorgeous heatsink that really nails it though. Thick aluminium, a brushed metal finish, TT logo chrome inserts, a really uniform set of lightbars, bright LEDs, and extensive software support throughout.

Should I Buy Them?

They’re not cheap, but they’ve clearly got a lot to offer. Fast speeds, ultra-stylish aesthetics and fantastic build quality make this one of the best all-round memory kits on the market right now.
