Thermaltake V200 RGB Tempered Glass Chassis Review

A Closer Look – Exterior

The V200 is not a complex chassis, and Thermaltake has kept it nice and simple to appeal to a lot of people. Of course, at this price range, it doesn’t have to be bonkers like the Level 20 series. Down the left side, you’ll find a full-panel tempered glass window, providing you with a superb view of the chassis interior; perfect for showing off your new build.

While the front panel isn’t tempered glass, it is acrylic, it still looks pretty great. Normally, I don’t like mixing plastic and glass, but the wrap around left edge looks nice and clean. Of course, doing a curved glass front panel in tempered glass would quickly add another big digit onto the price. Lurking behind that panel, you’ll find three pre-installed 120mm RGB LED fans, adding significant value for money to the V200. A non-RGB model is also available too if you so desire.

Right Side

Down the right-hand side of the chassis, just a standard blank panel. Nothing too fancy, but then again, it doesn’t really need to be and it gets the job done. Just like the glass panel, this side panel is also mounted with thumbscrews, so it’s easily accessed.

The top panel is equipped with a huge magnetic dust filter, which can easily be removed, cleaned, then reinstalled. Beneath it, you’ll find room for 2 x 120mm fans or 2 x 140mm fans; the chassis is fairly compact, so there’s no official top panel radiator support.

Towards the front, a fairly standard setup, with all the usual USB ports and power controls. There’s a built-in RGB hub on this case though, and you can use the RGB button as a light changer control if you desire; pretty handy!

Rear

Around the back, it’s a pretty basic setup with a few pros and cons. There’s a 120mm fan pre-installed in the rear, giving us four fans in total pre-installed. There are seven expansion slots also, however, only the top one has a reusable cover with the lower ones using a snap-off design; boo!
