Thermaltake View 300 MX Mid Tower Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Thermaltake View 300 MX is available now from Scan for £209.99 for the white version, and £209.99 for the black version. Obviously, that’s a lot of money, but it’s a lot of case too. The additional front panel, the huge ARGB fans in the front, and the extra one in the back, all the filters, grommets, brackets, and just the sheer size of it really add up fast. Expensive, yes, but is it overpriced for what you get? Absolutely not.

Overview

The Thermaltake View 300 MX is an absolute beast, and while it’s big enough to deal with the latest and greatest in gaming hardware, it’s not so big that it wouldn’t fit under, next to, or even on top of most common desk designs. It’s just a bit wider, a bit longer, and a bit taller, ensuring you can fit the latest graphics cards, and more than one 360mm radiator to ensure you can get the absolute best performance from your next PC build.

Big GPUs Need Big Cases

Admittedly, this case isn’t for your typical day-to-day home computer, it’s complete overkill for all but those dropping some serious cash on their hardware. Its size and cost alone mean it’s pretty much not going to appeal to a lot of people. However, for those dropping £1500 – £2000 on a single goddamn graphics card, that is frankly enormous (looking at you RTX 4090), dropping £220 on a PC case that will support it doesn’t seem like a giant leap beyond that.

Showoff

It’s also a great showcase, with a large clear tempered glass window on the left side that allows you to really flex your build. Plus, with the front panel being modular, you have a choice of the glass or the higher airflow custom metal panel to pick from. For me, I’d actually go with the glass for the most part, as it has ample ventilation around the glass, more so than we typically see on glass front panels. However, if you’re running your hardware hard all the time, or even in a hotter environment, swapping out to the metal panel with higher airflow can be done in a few minutes. Regardless, they both look fantastic.

Keep it Cool

There are a lot of other great features too, such as those gorgeous pre-installed 2 x 200mm front fans, and the rear 120mm fan. There’s additional space for more 120mm, 140mm and 200mm fans to be installed, room for large radiators in the top, front, and side, and a small one in the back, and there are two dust filters on the bottom, one in the front, one on the side, and one on the top. Airflow, cooling, and filtering is well taken care of.

Great Features

Furthermore, there’s a built-in ARGB and fan control hub, allowing you to get up and running with minimal fuss. Plus, the RGB controller is great, offering lots of colours and effects at the touch of a button, with no desktop software required. With a built-in PSU shroud, vertical GPU mounting bracket, modular storage bags, cable routing grommets and more, the Thermaltake View 300 is as versatile and capable as PC cases come. Sure, it’s pretty expensive, but it’s certainly a worthwhile investment for PC enthusiasts.
