Thermaltake View 71 TG Snow Edition Case Review

Complete System

Building a system inside the View 71 TG Snow was easy enough. I mean, there’s an enormous amount of space to work with here. Getting your arms and elbows in to tighten up fittings isn’t going to be an issue, that’s for sure.

All the hardware fit with ease, well, almost. I did use an E-ATX motherboard that covered half of the right side grommets. Certainly, if I routed the cables first, they would still make it through. Personally, this isn’t a deal breaker for me, E-ATX isn’t that common and you can just take that into consideration. There’s no PSU shroud to hide cables though, and with glass on all sides, you have to get that routed bang on. Fortunately, there is a trick though.

The vertical GPU mount looks superb, and it’s ideal for showing off your card. Keep in mind though, the riser cable isn’t included, so you’ll have to buy one separately. The trick I mentioned though, is that excess cables can be hidden behind the GPU. You can’t really see them here.

Honestly, there’s a lot more crammed down there than it looks. Hey, if it works, it works.

Clearance

There’s an impressive amount of space above the motherboard too. For top mounting radiators, slim ones should do just fine, plus a single row of fans. I went with air cooling, but as we mentioned, it’ll support big radiators in the front, side and top mounts, as well as some in the base. You’re hardly short on options for liquid or air cooling here.

Modular

I left the front bays in, as I quite like them. Of course, you can move them up or even remove them entirely if you so desire. I suspect those going custom loop will remove them for thick radiators and a reservoir in the front.

Even with them in place though, there’s lots of room for airflow in the case. Albeit, only two fans are provided as standard. This is a case built for the custom market, who likely use their own fans, so no need for TT to include a bunch that customers would likely not use anyway.

I Got Bored

It seems every time I get a big Thermaltake case, I like to put things in just to show you the scale of it. A coffee cup, key rim, Gandalf, and an Xbox One Controller did the trick nicely this time. I’m not saying it’s handy storage space, but… it could be.

Tempered Glass

The Thermaltake View 71 TG Snow Edition is a glorious beast, to say the least. That all-around tempered glass means that you can really show off your hardware. Admittedly, I haven’t got as much lighting in here as some may. However, if you’re after an RGB showcase, this will more than do the trick.

There are two Riing RGB fans included, which isn’t much for a case of this size. However, I do like their subtle lighting effect, they’re quite classy.

Overall, if you’re after an enormous PC case to show off every bit of hardware you own, this is it.
