The Thermaltake Water 3.0 S Riing 240 AIO Cooler doesn’t come cheap, clocking in at £104.99 (inc shipping) from Scan.co.uk. This obviously is a lot of money for a CPU cooler, but compared to other high-end models on the market, it’s still a competitive price, and given the performance gives the competition something to be worried about, it’s a well justified retail price one way or another.

Overview

We love this cooler, it’s a simple as that. Thermaltake have given their extremely popular Water 3.0 series the RGB upgrade you desire, but at the same time given it more than an aesthetic upgrade. The new fans are nice and quiet, offer up improved airflow and in the end, they help deliver cooler temperatures with less noise than the previous generation. Overall, this is exactly what we like to see from an upgraded edition of an existing product range.

The RGB fan controller and hub is a welcome addition too, allowing you to tweak your systems appearance without having to rely on any desktop software. Obviously, you do need to be creative in placing the hub somewhere accessible, but it’s more than likely you’ll dial around the settings from a few days till you find something you like, then leave it set at that for a long time.

Build quality is very good, with the best tubing we’ve seen on an AIO for a long time. The braided is thick, smooth and glossy, which will look great in your system build, but it’s also very strong and surprisingly flexible, meaning it’s easy to work with. If I could see one improvement from Thermaltake, it would be an upgrade to their mounting kit, which still feels a little over complicated and fiddly to work with. It’s not a deal breaker, but something a little more unified and user-friendly is always welcome.
