The Taiwan-based chip manufacturer currently has enough order from its major clients to have their hands full.
According to Digitimes, the number of orders currently coming in from the likes of AMD, Broadcom, MediaTek, MStar Semiconductor, Nvidia and Qualcomm may be enough, not only to give TSMC a load of work, but to completely book the foundry’s production capacity for the advanced sub-40nm manufacturing processes.
An increase in orders has also been noted from Texas Instruments, Freescale Semiconductor, STMicroelectronics and Infineon Technologies in order to respond to their own growing demand. Companies in the market of smartphone, PC and consumer electronies certainly seem to build up their inventory.
This may not be a coincidence, as there is a belief currently circulating that the semiconductor industry will bottom out in Q1 of this year but will start to grow in the beginning of Q4.
