Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z RGB Review

Final Thoughts

Price

At the time of writing, I couldn’t find stock of the Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z RGB Mechanical Keyboard at our preferred retailers. But a little shop around and you may find a few stores with stock in the region of £80, while the standard single-colour version is around £65. This is exceptional value for money and it is also one of the most affordable RGB keyboards on the market, something that you (or your wallet) simply cannot ignore. This keyboard has only recently hit the market, so we expect retailer stock to increase very soon.

Overview

The latest keyboard from Tt eSPORTS doesn’t offer much in the way of innovation, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great keyboard. The Poseidon Z series of keyboards has already proven to be a popular choice with gamers and day-to-day desktop users, combining a simple yet stylish design, a range of switch types to choose from, macro recording features and well, not a whole lot more. It ticks just enough boxes for the majority of users, without adding a huge range of features you’re likely never going to need and that helps keep the cost of this keyboard as attractive as it is.

Of course, the biggest addition to this keyboard is the RGB switches, allowing you to unlock a new level of customisation for your desktop environment. Personally, I’m not keen on having a rainbow party on my desk, it’s far too distracting while I’m trying to work or game, but it still makes for a nice party trick to show people. What I do like, is having the option to adjust the lighting to my own liking and you certainly get that option here.

Build quality is very good overall, the keyboard may be quite slim, which is a perk in its own right, but it’s also rigid and sturdy. The thing that stands out the most, however, is that 5-year switch guarantee. There’s still a crowd that will only use Cherry MX switches and that fine, there’s no shortage of options for that, but if you’re on the fence about Kailh mechanical switch quality, that 5-year guarantee is going to give you confidence in their quality.

Pros

  • Great build quality
  • RGB lighting
  • On-the-fly macro recording
  • On-board memory
  • Slim chassis design
  • Very competitive price
  • 5-year switch guarantee
  • Choice of Brown or Blue mechanical switches

Cons

  • Limited availability (at time of writing)

“The Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z RGB is a great keyboard for day-to-day work, but still has all the features and thrills to satisfy your pro-gaming aspirations; the RGB lighting is just a very welcome added bonus.”
