Performance

I was expecting great things from this headset, despite its compact size, it still packs some pretty huge drivers for an in-ear headset. Fortunately, I wasn’t disappointed and the drivers in the Isurus put up one hell of a fight. The bass levels are by far the most impressive aspect, easily comparable to a larger set of over-the-ear drivers, giving you rich and thundering explosions in gaming, as well as clear and powerful bass while watching movies or listening to music. The treble is bright and clear, full of detail that brings out all the finer details in a gaming environment and provides you with clear chat audio. If anything, the mid rangers sound a little muddy, but no more so than most in-ear drivers, but the distortion free sound, powerful max volume, and punchy bass more than makes up for it.

The microphone is the biggest surprise, offering bright and clear audio both for the listener and the speaker. It’s certainly much better than an on-cable pin-hole microphone and as far as I’m concerned, easily on par with the bulk of larger boom microphones I’ve tested on full-size headsets. The fact that it can be quickly detached is certainly a nice bonus, as it means you can use the Isurus as headphones for your phone or MP3 player, but even with it connected its lightweight and unobtrusive. It’s also great for making calls from your mobile, making this a perfect headset for gaming and for when you’re on the go.

The fit is a little strange at first and may not be suitable for those with small ears, but the super lightweight design is fantastic, especially during those long gaming sessions. As an added bonus, if you have hair that often gets messed up by a headband from larger headsets, you’ll have no such trouble here.
