TteSports Theron Infrared Gaming Mouse Review

Performance

The mouse was plug and play compatible and I was able to get it up and running immediately. The software download was just over 8mb and provided a really nice interface for configuring the mouses features. Hooking up the mouse soon brought the LED lighting to life and as you can see we have a light strip on the bottom left, bottom right, rear, while the TteSports dragon and the mouse wheel also light up in a deep red colour.

The software is nicely laid out, features a simple to use key mapping system, lighting configuration, macro recording and customisable performance for each of the five profiles.

Polling rate, DPI, click speed, cursor speed and scroll speed can all be configured with great precision and its really easy to setup.

The macro recording feature is quick and easy to use, with plenty of customisation options available.

The sensor is absolutely gorgeous to use, I was expecting to struggle to find a difference between this and the original Theron, but the general feel and response is completely different. At first it was a little twitchy, but this was mostly due to it needing calibrating to my gaming surface. The liftoff height was around 10mm! Fortunately Tt offer a free app that allows you to tweak this and I was easily able to get it down to 1mm and the mouse felt tighter and more responsive for it.

I couldn’t find any acceleration or deceleration in the sensor and that is simply amazing, the sensor is accurate to a fault and it is simply a case of not being able to blame the mouse the next time you miss a headshot.

The macro features are not something I use often, but I find the right side button was really handy for push to talk functions while gaming.

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
