Windows 11 Update Finally Fixes Game Performance Bug
Mike Sanders / 6 months ago
The release of the Windows 11 22H2 update has predominantly brought way more problems to the operating system than it ever supposedly solved. One of the notable and most persistent of these was a bug which, in certain games, would result in significantly reduced levels of performance. – Now, admittedly, this only affected a relatively small number of titles, but for those on Windows 11 playing these, it was clearly a frustrating issue and particularly so since it took Microsoft over a month to acknowledge it even existed.
Two months later though and has it finally been solved? Well, following a report via TechSpot, the good news is that following the release of a new Windows 11 cumulative update, Microsoft might have finally solved the problem!
Windows 11 Update Fixes Game Performance Bug
As part of a new Windows 11 update, users now have the ability to download the ‘KB5020044’ patch which, all going well, will completely fix and resolve all for the gaming performance issues within the operating system.
The only mildly weird aspect is that rather than updating automatically (as you might expect considering this is probably quite important to some people), this only appears if you manually check your Windows 11 update menu where you should find it as an optional download. – So, yeah, a little bit weird the rollout hasn’t been mandated, still though, 2 months on and I guess it’s better late than never!
