Wonder Boy is one of those classic games I will simply never forget, especially since we’ve seen it on so many systems over the years. First launching in 1986 as an arcade title, it works its way to the Master System, Commodore 64, Spectrum, Game Gear, the PlayStation 4, and more. While re-releasing the classic version has worked well, the game is now being treated to an HD makeover.
Wonder Boy looks set to face the fast-paced side-scrolling action once again in a bid to save his girlfriend Tina from the Dark King. What’s cool is that the games monsters and stages have been re-designed from scratch, so while they keep the same gameplay and style we remember, they’re in a whole new world in terms of visuals. That being said, the visuals do look a little too cute for my liking, it makes me think Candy Crush rather than classic arcade, but so long as the gameplay is right, I’m happy.
“First released as on Arcade machine, Wonder Boy is a fast paced side scrolling action arcade game. The hero, Boy is running hastily to save his girlfriend Tina, who had been held captive by the Dark King. The game had intuitive gameplay, and the face paced action side scroller game gained overwhelming popularity. It is a classic title that once dominated the gaming era. Due to its popularity, it also managed to be ported into many numerous consoles even to this date.”
