Zotac Announces GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Mini Availability

You don’t need to sacrifice performance if you want a compact gaming system. Those days are no more. You can get some epic mITX motherboards, and Zotac officially launches their GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Mini graphics card. With it, you get the full GTX 1080 Ti performance in a size of just 211mm (8.3 inches).

Flagship Chip with Slower Speeds

It is only logical that you have to make some sacrifices when shrinking such a powerful graphics card down to this size. Shrinking the PCB isn’t very difficult. It is the cooling solution that will take the biggest hit. Still, we get a powerful graphics card that will kick some compact gaming system butt.

With a base clock of 1506MHz and a boost clock of 1620 MHz, it’s far from the fastest GTX 1080 Ti on the market. For comparison, the Zotac AMP Extreme has a base clock of 1645MHz and boosts to 1759MHz. The new mini card is still a very impressive graphics card, no doubt. IT comes with the standard 11GB GDDR5 memory which runs with 11GHz.

The GTX 1080 Ti Mini Cooling

Such a compact card requires a new cooling solution, and Zotac came up with the IceStorm for this. It features a dual fan setup with a 90mm and a 100mm fan. The heat is transferred away from the critical components by five 6mm copper heat pipes to a wide stack aluminium fin setup.

Connection Options

Cutting the length of a card doesn’t impact the connection options for the GTX 1080 Ti Mini graphics card. You get a total of five display connections and support for four simultaneous displays. The five ports are three DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.0b, and one DL-DVI-D port.

Power Consumption

The card requires a dual 8-pin power setup for its 250W rating. It is recommended to use a 600W PSU for it, and that’s an easy target to hit even for SFX PSUs.

Pricing and Availability

It isn’t the first time that we’ve heard of this graphics card. It was unveiled three weeks ago, and we also saw it at Computex. This announcement marks the availability of the card. Amazon has it listed with stock arriving on the 18th of June. As for the price, it will cost you $504.99 at the time of writing. The official list price is $539.99.
