Abkoncore TN Series 700w Power Supply Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Retailing for a price in the region of £59.99, the Abkoncore ZN Series is, in all honestly, a lot better than we were expecting. Admittedly, this is a price point in which you’ll be tripping over various power supply designs. With this specific model carrying 700 watts of power, however, its undoubtedly one the most attractive options.

Don’t forget as well, with a huge 7-year warranty, this is more of an investment that could potentially be used in many builds to come rather than as a one-off purchase.

Performance

We honestly came into this expecting the Abkoncore ZN Series to be a solid, but largely unremarkable power supply. As you can see from our testing, however, this is much better than you might have expected.

A particular highlight is the efficiency rating which, although only official bronze, tip-toes into the realms of Silver. This in itself is excellent as it means that you’re essentially getting a lot more bang for your buck!

Practicality & Functionality

In terms of style, we really like this power supply. That distinctive top panel covering the fan is exceptionally eye-catching and, as we saw with our look inside, it appears to be a very well designed power supply.

With 700 watts of power as well, this design should be well suited to very high-specification gaming systems! The only criticism we could find is that the main capacitor is not Japanese and isn’t a particularly highly-rated design either. The positive is that Teapo is still a solid brand and, while likely representing a bit of cost-cutting, it shouldn’t affect the overall performance or durability.

Should I Buy One?

As we said at the beginning of the review, Abkoncore is not a brand we’re overly familiar with, but judging by the ZN Series of power supplies, they’re not a flash in the pan. These are truly excellent PSUs and well worthy of being in contention for your next system build.

With a performance that well exceeds that listed on the packaging, as well as a highly wallet-friendly price, the Abkoncore ZN Series is one of the best performing budget-friendly power supplies around at the moment and, if you’re in the market for a PSU, they’re well worth checking out!
