ADATA 500 Series S510 120GB SSD Review

The AS SSD software determines the performance of Solid State Drives (SSD). The tool contains five synthetic and three practice tests. The synthetic tests determine the sequential and random read and write performance of the SSD. These tests are performed without using the operating system caches. In Sequential tests the program measures the time it takes to read a 1GB file to write respectively.

When we take a look at our AS SSD results, the first impression is that the drive doesn’t come anywhere near to its rated speeds on the box, but this is the case for two good reasons. Firstly this is a real world sequential benchmark and more importantly, the S510 uses Asynchronous NAND ICs, hence the down fall.
