Adata PV100 4200mAh USB Battery Review

Final Thoughts

Price

Prices for the PV100 vary a fair bit, but most retailers seem to hover around the £20 area, although at time of writing there are a few deals around that have it listed at a little over £15. This is great value for money, especially given that the battery is so compact and neatly designed.

Overview

Overall a pretty solid performance from the Adata PV100, it’s a little hard to get excited about a fairly simple recharging device, but the PV100 has saved my butt more than a few times since I got it earlier this year. When on a night out with friends I tend to use the camera on my phone as lot, as well as a lot of navigation to find my way around town, both of which can be very battery intensive and there is nothing worse than having no power left in your device to call a cab at the end of the night. Being able to leave my phone on charge in my pocket is very advantageous and for such a small investment you can’t really go wrong.

There are many companies making this kind of mobile accessory, so it can be tricky to find the one that is best suited to you and your needs. The most important things in my opinion are to buy from a brand name you trust, get one with a larger battery capacity (mAh) than the battery in the device(s) you would like to charge, and get one that has a 2.1A output. The 2.1A output is important, as that is often the power delivery you will need to charge tablets, and it also allows (in most cases) your devices to charge much faster. Fortunately for me, the PV100 ticks all of these boxes.

Pros

  • Slim form factor
  • Stylish design
  • Safety features
  • 2.1A output
  • Good battery capacity
  • Low price

Cons

  • None
