At stock clocks, the Ryzen R3 1200 doesn’t disappoint, delivering some very competitive frame rates. Of course, the big Intel chips are pulling ahead with their greatest core counts and higher clock speeds. The R3 1300X is also ahead at stock values, but not by a huge amount and the R3 1200 certainly has enough grunt to be a budget gaming chip. However, once we overclock, that performance improves nicely in every benchmark, squeezing a few extra FPS from each test. The overclock even closed the gap between the two Ryzen 3 CPUs.
As we saw with the Ryzen 3 1300X, once we move up to 4K and the workload is more GPU bound, the Ryzen 3 chips are very competitive even against the high-end Intel CPUs. This tells us that the Ryzen 3 chips aren’t bottlenecking the GTX 1080 Ti. Check out the results below, they’re very interesting indeed!
