AMD Ryzen 3 1200 Quad-Core CPU Review

Power Consumption and Temperatures

Power Consumption

This chip is not a high powered monster, so it’s no surprise that it uses such a small amount of power. At stock clocks, it’s using no more than 72.2 Watts. Even overclocking wasn’t enough to push it over 100 Watts. This means it’s going to be affordable to run, but also mean it should be nice and cool too.

Temperatures

As predicted, this CPU runs very well and at full load it was a breezy 33C, and with an ambient temperature of 21c in the office, that’s simply amazing. The stock or a budget cooler is going to be more than enough to run this chip, even while overclocking.

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
