3DMark
Discrete GPU performance follows a similar trend to our CPU benchmarks. The R7 1700 doesn’t fair too well at stock clocks, but with a good overclock, both the 1700 and the 1800X are pretty close to each other.
Rise of the Tomb Raider
The R7 1800X dominated this test, and while not quite as impressive, the R7 1700 is certainly keeping a respectable pace at both stock and overclocked speeds.
Shadow of Mordor
The scores are looking the same here, again, low at stock, and right behind the 1800X while overclocked. The R7 1800X did top the chart, though, so while the R7 1700 is for the most part pretty close, the speed advantage of the 1800X does bring benefits from time to time. Do keep in mind, however, that from top to bottom, there’s not a huge FPS difference between most of the chips on this list, they all did a pretty solid job of removing bottlenecks from the GPU.
