Cooler Master Mastermouse MM530 RGB Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Cooler Master Mastermouse MM530 is already in stores with an MSRP of just £34.99. That’s extremely good value for money, and even better, it’s the same price as their recently launched MM520. They’re fairly similar mice, albeit in very different form factors. Either way, palm or fingertip grip, Cooler Master has you covered at a very competitive price point.

Overview

Once again, Cooler Master has delivered one of the most competitive mice on the market. Not only is the MM530 flawless in terms of performance, it’s also fiercly competitive in terms of its retail price. This gives it very broad market appeal and that’s obviously a big win for consumers and Cooler Master. From gaming casually at home to working in the office to competitive LAN tournaments and eSports, it’s going to deliver great results in any scenario.

Packed With Features

For a mouse that costs just £35, you would think there would be signs of cut corners or this being a budget mouse, but there aren’t. It’s got a powerful and incredibly accurate Pixart sensor that works from 100 to 12000 DPI. There are four on-board profiles, allowing you to stop macros, custom switch combinations, sensor configurations, RGB lighting styles and more. The RGB lighting looks fantastic and is easy to customise through the software. I really can’t fault a thing about it, and the software suite is one of the cleanest layouts on the market too.

Build Quality

“Maybe it’s built from cheaper materials, Peter?” Absolutely not, with a PBT exterior, the mouse is pretty robust and resistant to material fade. It has a pair of hard-wearing grips on each side too, that I’m certain will stand up to some serious abuse. Combine that with the premium choice of hardware, such as the Pixart sensor, and the ever trustworthy Omron switches, and you know you’re getting a good deal. Even little details, like a custom, moulded USB header show attention to the little details here.

Should I Buy One?

It’s hard to find a reason not to buy the latest Cooler Master mouse. You’re not going to find anything better for less, that’s for sure. Around this price range, there is certainly competition, and some truly fantastic products from other brands. However, if you like the look and grip type of the MM530, the rest is a no brainer. Easily one of the best all round mice we’ve seen for a while.
