Cooler Master Tempest GP27Q Mini-LED Gaming Monitor Review

A Closer Look

Now, if you haven’t seen the GPU27U review, I can tell you now, this monitor looks pretty much identical. See, this is the 2K model below…

And here is the 4K model I reviewed a few weeks back… See, they look the same!

This is no bad thing though, I have no issues with this £500 monitor looking every bit as good as its £800 counterpart. It has all the same ergonomic features and the same stand too. You can still adjust it by a whopping 110mm in height.

And it has -5°~+20° of tilt, and ±15° of swivel too, so there should be no issues getting a good angle.

The panel coating is really nice too, muting reflections really well in today’s painfully bright office. However, it’s not completely matte, and with some shine, it’s going to give a more vibrant contrast when powered on.

I love that the stand is in the outline shape of the Cooler Master logo. Plus, there’s room enough to throw some loose change and my keys in that space.

Here’s another picture of the 4K model, as you can see, it has a stunning back panel design and integrated RGB.

But I’m happy to report, the 2K model once again looks identical, no compromise on build quality or style on this significantly more affordable model.

There’s a single DisplayPort and a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, as well as a DisplayPort Type-C (90W).

The monitor also supports a portrait mode and can be turned to the left or right, so you can choose what side the bottom bezel ends up on.

Or you can go for this swag angle and look like a total boss, or… perhaps not.
