Corsair Gaming Sabre Optical RGB Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Corsair Sabre Optical RGB mouse may offer high-end performance, but it doesn’t have a high-end price tag. You can pick up the mouse from Overclockers.co.uk for just £49.99; I think that’s excellent value for money.

Overview

There’s really no shortage of great gaming mice right now, as it seems every major brand has a product for around £50 that will impress you in one way or another. While I can’t say that the Sabre is better than anything else out there, it’s certainly good enough to stand alongside many other popular gaming mice.

The mouse is very well made and the addition of a hard wearing rubber coating should help keep it looking great for a long time. The rubber coating is also practical, as it adds extra grip to the mouse and it’s also the perfect coating for those who suffer from sweaty hands while gaming. The addition of a braided cable and a custom USB connector should also help improve the overall lifespan of the mouse.

The RGB lighting features are a nice bonus, even more so if you already own (or plan on buying) another Corsair RGB series product. While I don’t much care about synchronised lighting patterns between my products, it’s always nice to have the option.

Performance was perfect on this mouse, making this a great mouse for both work and play. Sensor performance is easily the most important aspect of any mouse and the optical sensor in the Sabre is easily one of the best optical sensors I’ve used.

Pros

  • Great build quality
  • Rubber grip coating
  • 4 zone RGB lighting
  • 8 fully programmable buttons
  • Excellent sensor performance
  • Competitive price

Cons

  • Right hand only

“The Corsair Sabre Optical RGB is one of the best mice in its class. There may be no shortage of great gaming mice in this price range, but if you’re wanting a reliable mouse for work and play, with funky customisable lighting and great build quality, then you’ll find a lot to love about the Sabre.”
