Performance

One of the best aspect of any recent Corsair peripheral is that they can all be controlled through their stunning Cue software. The layout is great, and it allows you to quickly tweak any settings with ease. It’s beginner friendly, making it easy to change macros on any key, and even change the lighting profiles using the built-in settings. Of course, if you wanted to dive further in, there’s an advanced mode and you can tweak lighting timings, per-keys settings and more to create virtually endless combinations to suit your taste.

The lighting engine is nothing short of spectacular on this keyboard, easily the best on the market today given how easy it is to configure and how colourful the switches can be, if you want them to be. Expect a lot of images here to show the range of colours. I  left the keyboard mostly on a rainbow fade to show off the lighting in our images.

There’s a nice amount of light between each key, allowing you to create colour mixes between the switched for a smoother transition effect between each key.

I wasn’t a fan of it at first, but I’m warming up to their use of a larger and fatter font on the keys, it does look a bit silly in my eyes, but when it comes to RGB lit keyboards, it makes a lot of sense and lets a huge amount of light flow through the key cap.

As I said before, the Corsair logo lights up with flows of colour too, as does that slim strip at the back of the keyboard, giving you even more lighting thrills. Is it a bit excessive? A little yes, but it looks pretty cool. Personally, I know I would set the keyboard to one colour and leave it there, but having more options is never a bad thing.

One thing is for certain, the lighting looks great, I think we’ve pretty much covered the heck out of that, and the pictures more than speak for themselves, but what about the performance? This is a flagship keyboard, equipped with what are by far some of the finest gaming switches on the market, so it performs perfectly no matter what you throw at it.

The shorter actuation of the MX Speed is great for fast paced gaming, they need less force and shave a few milliseconds off your response times, it’s not much, but every advantage counts. From working in the office on those boring emails, to playing CS:GO till 6am and realising to you’re going to be calling in sick for work, you’ll be happy with the K95 under your fingertips.
