Ducky One 3 Classic Fullsize RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Not all keyboards are created equally, but that’s no surprise to all of you, I’m sure. You can get a premium quality keyboard for a pretty reasonable price these days, by which I mean somewhere between £50-100, and it’ll be fantastic. However, the flagship models from the likes of ASUS, Corsair, Razer, Logitech, and more cost between £150-250 these days. The latest one from Ducky is no exception to that rule, coming in at £172.99 for the model I’m reviewing, albeit Ducky isn’t like most brands. The model I’m reviewing is exactly the Ducky One 3 Classic Fullsize USB RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Cherry Brown – Pure White UK Layout, and well… there are a f****** lot of variants to pick from. Full size, TKL, 65%, 60% sizes, in Classic, Fuji, Matcha, Yellow, Black, White, and Day Break themes, and even then, you have pretty much all Cherry switches to pick from; Clear, Silver, Black, Brown, Blue, Red. And even then, that is literally just the level of choice for the Ducky One 3 keyboard. All those changes, all those variants, but all basically the same keyboard I’m reviewing today… yikes.

Ducky One 3

The Ducky One 3 series is packed with variants, but also some great features. The entire keyboard is equipped with the Kailh Yellow Sockets on the PCB, meaning all of the switches are fully hot-swappable; Kailh sockets, but Cherry Switches as standard. It features V2 stabilizers, sound dampening, double-shot PBT caps, a 3-level adjustable feel, USB-C connectivity, full-RGB with some additional PCB lights to keep things looking evenly lit, and more. While it’s as obviously packed with bonkers features like Mountain keyboards, this is more a “standard” keyboard done to a very high standard in terms of aesthetics, but truly, it’s hiding way more features than you might think.

QUACK Mechanics

“The One 3 series features Ducky’s all-new QUACK Mechanics design philosophy which focuses on achieving best-in-class aesthetics, hot-swap functionality, sound dampening, stabilizers, and more. The case for the One 3 maintains a low profile while allowing for a variety of colour combinations with its unique 3-layer design. Enjoy the best acoustics you’ll find in a prebuilt thanks to the One 3’s silicone plate dampener and EVA foam case dampener.” – Ducky

Yes, the entire full-size Ducky One 3 Classic is hot-swappable with Ducky’s exclusive top-of-the-line Kailh Yellow Sockets The One 3 series features Ducky’s V2 stabilizers with improved stability, feel, and sound.
