E-Blue K820 Professional Gaming Combo Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The E-Blue K820 Gaming Combo may have a few quirks and not be the greatest keyboard and mouse ever, but it was never intended to be, it’s a starting block and it’s meant to be affordable and accessible. E-Blue deliver the goods, though, as you can expect prices to be, wait for it, £28! That’s right, you’ll get change from £30 for a mouse, keyboard and mouse mat; if that’s not amazing value for money, nothing is!

Overview

Well, there you have it, a huge amount of gaming hardware for less than the price of a new game at launch. When it comes to getting setup for some PC gaming, it can be a pricey endeavour, and saving every bit of budget so you can get the faster CPU or  GPU is aways tempting. With many gaming keyboards and mice costing around £70+ each, and don’t get me wrong they’re usually worth it, things add up fast.

The keyboard action is quite a surprise, the plunger keys are fast, light and responsive, which is something I don’t feel about membrane keyboards that often, let alone budget ones. It’s quite lightweight, and not the strongest thing in the world, but it was never going to be. The mouse performs rather well, the switches feel nice enough and the finish and ergonomics are punching above their budget. Of course, the sensor isn’t the best and the mouse wheel could be improved, but for a bit of work and gaming, it’ll certainly get the job done. Let’s not forget that bonus mouse mat too, it’s something often overlooked in bundles and it’s a great quality mat works great with the Cobra mouse.

Overall, fairly average build quality and fairly standard performance, which is often something that I would see as a bad thing, but it’s actually a better quality bundle than I was expecting for the price; I’ve seen worse bundles for more money in a lot of high-street retailers. The aesthetics are fantastic, though, and the hints of LED lighting mixed with the contrasting black and blue highlights adds a nice bit of flair overall.

Pros

  • Exceptional value for money
  • Nice aesthetics
  • Mouse, keyboard and mat all included
  • Great performance (keyboard)
  • Comfortable ergonomics (mouse)
  • Well packaged
  • LED lighting

Cons

  • Mouse wheel feels a little loose on the horizontal axis (although it works just fine)

Neutral

  • Angle snapping on mouse sensor, although that’s usually the case on mice in this price range

“Gaming on a tight budget has never been so each. Two great looking peripherals with just enough features to get you through your work and gaming, without breaking the bank.”
