Fractal Design Torrent Nano Case Review

Complete System

I do love a good mini-ITX build, and this is by far one of the easiest I’ve done to date. There’s a good amount of space throughout the case, which meant I never had to fight with cables or components to get everything to fit easily.

The cable routing options on offer mean that cable runs are kept nice and short. This helps keep things looking smart, and keeps cables away from the fans too. The cable tie straps behind the motherboard were a big help too, especially since the case has glass on both sides, so you’ll want to keep excess cables tucked under the PSU shroud.

Graphics card support is impressive, with room for a 335mm card with the 180mm fan installed. However, if you switch to a pair of 120/140mm fans, you’ll only have 310mm. That being said, I think you’d be nuts not using the pre-installed fan, it’s awesome!

As you can see, the front fan is huge. It’s 180mm, and it’s by far one of the most premium fans I’ve ever seen in a case. It’s a shame they didn’t put an ARGB Prisma fan in this model though.

Plus, given the freaking size of this fan, the amount of air it moves even at lower RPM is mighty impressive. The fan is quite heavily set back in the front panel too, so while the fan is bright, it doesn’t illuminate your room so much as it does the case interior, which I much prefer.

While there’s room in the rear for an additional fan, I can’t say I felt the need for it. Between the front fan and the CPU cooler, the air just floods out the back of this case with ease.

As you can see, the Noctua NH-U12S fits with ease, but amazing, a D15S would fit just fine too; not too shabby for a mini-ITX case!

With all the glass back in place, this really is a stunning PC case.

Perfect for showing off your hardware and the ideal case for those who want something worthy of sitting on their desktop, not under it.
