Coming officially rated as an 80-Plus Platinum design, the FSP Hydro PTM X Pro clearly has set some rather lofty goals in terms of its efficiency. Did it manage to meet then though? Well, the answer is that regard is a resounding yes.
The FSP Hydro PTM X Pro easily achieved the 80-Plus Platinum efficiency standard and actually exceeds it by a pretty substantial margin of circa 3-4%. This does, actually, almost tip-toe on the highest Titanium rating and trust me when I say that if this had that rating, you could easily expect another £50-£100 to be added to its price tag!
While not among the highest PFC scores we’ve ever encountered, the FSP Hydro PTM X Pro still performed very well in this test. While the 20% result might initially appear quite low, this is entirely normal for practically all power supplies, and, on the whole, the results shown here in our testing are excellent with it hitting a top score of 0.976.
While the FSP Hydro PTM X Pro did tend to slightly over or undervolt (depending on the rail – and let me add that this is perfectly normal), a closer look at the results clearly shows an impressive level of performance. Consistency is truly the king here as, despite the differing wattage outputs utilised in our testing, the FSP Hydro PTM X Pro continually provided very similar scores.
