GamerStorm Castle 240 RGB AIO CPU Cooler Review

Installation

Fitting a cooler can be a mixed bag of experiences. I’ve had some that have taken me about 5-10 minutes and I’ve had others that have taken me anything up to an hour. Creating a design that is both effective and easy to fit is something that not all manufacturers consider.

In terms of the GamerStorm Castle 240 RGB, this sits somewhere in the middle. The biggest issue in regards to this cooler is the number of sockets this incorporates. As such, although the bags are itemised accordingly, you have a lot of parts you need and a lot you don’t. In addition (and something we’ve seen from GamerStorm/DeepCool before) the manual isn’t the best quality to read or understand.

Another mildly tricky factor with this cooler is the RGB lighting. Although it is sync capable (which would help massively), if you’re hooking this up manually, there are a lot of cables and, of course, the controller itself. As such, some thought would be required to ensure that these are all well positioned. Particularly if you consider cable management a high priority.

In terms of the cable hub and controller, although they do not feel of a particularly high quality, they do the job well. Albeit, when together, this adds again to a large number of cables.
