Apex Legends is one of my favourites, as it’s one of the more straightforward Free to Play Battleground games, with good movement, tight combat, and pretty rapid deployment from the menu to the action. it’s also proven to be extremely compatible with older hardware, and easy to get the best from on higher-end hardware too.
The RTX 4090 and i7 made light work, maxing out the 240 Hz refresh rate with absolutely everything maxed out in the options. Honestly, I was going to do a deeper dive into this one, but I didn’t have a single hitch in the action, it’s superbly smooth, and the GPU and CPU usage shows the PC was hardly breaking a sweat.
I usually game at 165Hz, and honestly, I’m not that great, but at 240Hz it was one of the better games I’d have in ages… could just be a lucky day though.
