Gigabyte B75M-D3H Motherboard Sandy Bridge Review

We all know that everyone is excited to see Z77 in action, and if you check out the rest of the site, you will see a whole plethora of reviews based around that chipset. For now, we wanted to focus on the B75 chipset and this very niche board that we have on offer.

We purposely didn’t want to delve to far into the business market, but wanted to show a few of the things that Gigabyte have on offer with this board, and rightly so, as the business market is still a very large segment, and it’s not all about the consumer market. Businesses, education and government based machines are a key point and some of the features that have been implemented due to the Intel SBA technology could be a real godsend for keeping your data backed up, secure and running at its best capabilities.

We did decide to run our usual array of benchmarking tests, and with our trusty i7 2700k, the results that we saw were strong and could rival some of the most extreme consumer boards, though lacking certain consumer based functionality including overclocking.

In terms of overclocking, you’ll generally find this on a consumer based board, and with this being aimed at businesses, you won’t really have the need for it, and that’s exactly why it’s not on offer. Even testing with our i7 2700k, we felt like we were punching well above our weight when matching it with this board.

Due to the reasons stated out above, we do believe something like the i5 2310 or i3 2100, as these will be more suited for this board and more importantly, a board of this nature and the type of market that it’s aimed at, as an i7 2700k or any i7 truly is overkill for this board, and as we know with all businesses, it’s all about keeping the cost to a minimum.

With that in mind, we can’t see the B75M-D3H costing a mass amount, and will more than likely be seen integrated into systems, than being sold on its own as we’d normally expect.

Simply put, the B75M-D3H does pack a serious amount of features, made possible mainly by the Small Business Advantage package that comes included, which opens up a whole new world of possibilities and that is all part of the Gigabyte Innovation stance that they’ve been marketing with lately, and we have to congratulate them on that, as they’ve done a great job in such a simple way, with such a simple board, aimed at a relatively simple market. Simple, right?
