Gigabyte RTX 4070 Gaming OC Graphics Card Review

The RTX 4070 is here, and yesterday we took a look at the Founders Edition and INNO3D Twin X2 cards, both of which hit that $599 MSRP price point, while today allows us to lift the lid on cards that are above MSRP like this, the Gigabyte Gaming OC, to see what extra you get for your money.

So let me start by saying that the 4070 offers up good performance and more importantly, good value for money. You’re always going to be expected to pay a premium for the newest card on the block, and in turn, get the newest technology and architecture. I made it pretty clear that the 4070 comes into its own in titles that can harness the true potential of DLSS3 with Frame Generation to propel the performance, especially in titles that are maybe more CPU limited than anything else, like Microsoft Flight Sim which even with a 4090 in pure rasterisation, sees limitations and that’s honestly where I think the 4070 comes into its own.

You also manage to get good performance while remaining efficient as both our MSRP-based cards hovered around the 190W mark throughout our F1 hour-long loop test, so with a card like the Gaming OC from Gigabyte with its 215W default power limit and 320 maximum power limit, we should be able to see some pretty strong performance in comparison.
